Thriller Sub Genre: Crime/mystery
Intended Target Audience: Males 15-25
Setting: In a shady, dark street, or building
Idea: A mysterious person who never gets seen by the audience carrying a briefcase or a back pack of some sort, heads towards a dark secretive area. Where a person who also is mysterious but we see glimpses of them, is waiting on their arrival and keeps on checking his watch. They then meet up and exchange some dialogue along the lines of 'why are you late', and 'don't mess me around' etc. They then exchange something secretive, but one guy doesn't hold up to his end of the bargain and more people appear from the back and take the other guy captive, the opening then finishes and title sequences appear.

Setting: Middle-class area
Idea: A man is out with his best
friend in a bar and notices a man in a suit and sunglasses staring at them. The
man is shown returning home and going to bed. There is then a fade out shot and
fade in shot as he wakes up and goes downstairs. He then gets a breakfast
cereal box off of a shelf in his kitchen. As he turns around he spots a black
briefcase on the unit. He looks around and then stares at the briefcase. He
reluctantly opens the briefcase to find a note and a picture of his best
friend. The note explains that he must kill his best friend on that day or
there will be consequences. He looks further into the case and sees a pistol
and a knife with the caption “this bit’s up to you” implying that it is his
choice which weapon he uses.

Intended Target Audience: Males 15-25
Setting: Urban Area, Office
Idea: A man wakes up and is shown getting ready. He puts a suit on, picks up a briefcase and eaves the house. His full face is never shown. The man then goes up in an elevator. He exits the elevator and up to the receptionist who gives him a cup of coffee and says "Sir you're nine O' Clock is ready and waiting for you". He barely acknowledges her and walks into his office room. He walks over to the window and looks out of it. There is then a shot of him moving his coat out of the way to reveal a gun. The camera then zooms out to reveal a man being tortured. The title appears on screen.

Intended Target Audience: Aged 18-24 year olds
Setting: An abandoned field
Idea: Two teenagers are walking home late and have been drinking alcohol. They decide to take a shortcut through the field. No one is there but the creepy scarecrow tied up to a post. Its head hanging down whilst holding a knife. The Teenagers stumble past talking about it and as they walk away, the scarecrow lifts its head, rips itself from the post and follows them holding its knife.
